Just curious, are there any pharma-focused search funds out there?

I am going to guess the answer is no, but was just curious whether there are any search funds out there who are looking to acquire pharma companies and wait out the approval process. It seems like a monumental effort, but would love to hear from anyone who has a perspective on this. Thanks!

In 2015 I acquired a LMMC pharmaceutical company in Mexico. I am now in process to acquire a second one however this one is more into hygiene, cosmetics, and packaging for pharma. This company exports 25% into the U.S.A. I like this sector due to margins and entry barriers. I´d like to expand into the U.S. I am aware it is a different environment in many respects ranging from regulatory to market practices.

Hi John Jones. I've explored the opportunity to focus the search on a pharma company, but the result is that you'd probably restrict too much your potential target, as far as the average dimension of a pharmaceutical company is quite huge for a search fund. The idea of John Colleran to acquire drugs instead of a company is probably easier to implement.
