I'm trying to understand if searchers would find it valuable to be able to hire relatively affordable consultants to complete commercial due diligence work for them (e.g., market studies, competitive analysis, customer interviews, growth assessment,s etc.) as they evaluate particular acquisition targets.

CDD generally should be done by searchers themselves, as they need to really understand the industry they're getting into. Having said that, reality is that during deal you are time constrained talking to multiple investors, lawyers, accountants, etc. On our last deal attempt we have used CDD help for time consuming part, i.e. our friend ex-Bain did interviews with employees, management and did shadow visits with sales reps - it was also much better from comms perspective as we didn't have to lie that we are "consultants" and few weeks later go as new CEOs (owners didn't tell employees about the deal).

Would definitely be interested, however that really comes down to how we define "affordable" and the associated turn around time to have diligence completed.
