Is Sign manufacturing a dying industry?

Would love to hear thoughts from anyone in the space or those with experience in how it's evolving.

According to IBIS, the industry is hanging by a thread due to shifts toward online marketing and digital alternatives (and I can totally see why someone would choose Vistaprint over Signarama for something simple).

At the same time, when I look around at more complex signage that might require installation—large business signs, car decals and wraps, wayfinding, safety signage, etc.—it still feels ever-present.

As an outsider looking in, I’d appreciate any insights!

Hi Tarika, my business partner and I just purchased a concrete caisson and electrical trenching business. In speaking with our team, a segment they felt could be attractive for us to target more specifically is with specialized signage companies (so think of those large signs leading into commercial strip malls - we do the concrete bases supporting them). I think with anything tied to construction, it's cyclical but if you think of the Loveland and further north area where there is a ton of construction going on, there are opportunities however you so choose to look at it. Pls take my perspective with a grain of salt and good luck with your search!

It definitely seems more on the boring than cutting edge side of things, but that can often be a profitable place to be. Just do your research to make sure not only the company is well situated, but the overall market in that area has stabilized out. Would be happy to chat more about how to help with that redacted
