redacted has some interesting thoughts. My takeaways - a BoD for a formal search fund is in the cards. A BoD for a self-funded search could be structured more like an advisory board. Of course lots of nuances in between

I would start having conversations with people even before acquisitions it can actually help with those people being invested in helping find deals. BOD is to help you navigate the learning process of CEO and help avoid stumbling over easy hurdles , and properly navigate the tough ones. At least one should have industry experience where your acquisitions are and hopefully again they'll help with desk flow and possible top line improvement by connecting you with people.
