I am a 10 year veteran of the Marines. I decided to solo search-fund a few years back for govt contracting advantages as an SDVOSB. Which means I had to maintain 51% ownership. Investors weren't too keen on the idea of me keeping such a large share of ownership, even if their ownership was vested over time to allow them to get the advantages of being registered as an SDVOSB.
