Question for Traditional Investors/Accelerators: Investing in a geography-constrained searcher

With###-###-#### months before I officially begin my search, I am beginning to seriously evaluate which search (self-funded, traditional accelerated) model I want to pursue. I am based in the Chicagoland area and due to personal reasons, my desire is to acquire a business in the north/northwest suburbs of Chicago as well as potentially in southeast Wisconsin.

People within my ETA network have suggested that my only option to achieve this is via self-funded but to all the investors out there, I am open to hearing your thoughts on if you would be willing to invest in a searcher with such geography-constrained requirements.
