Brokd is seeking remote Investment Banking Interns to support deal origination and transaction execution for small-business M&A engagements, initially focused on the HVAC industry. Interns will contact business owners, introduce Brokd’s services, identify potential sellers, maintain organized outreach records, and schedule follow-up meetings for the team to complete financial and operational intake forms with interested owners.
Interns will also work with Brokd’s founders and licensed broker to support active transactions. Responsibilities may include company and buyer research, valuation support, financial analysis, preparation of teasers and confidential information memorandums, data-room organization, buyer outreach, due diligence, and deal tracking. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full sell-side process, from initial owner outreach through negotiations and closing.
Expectations
Interns are expected to:
-Make consistent outbound calls to HVAC business owners.
-Communicate professionally and confidently with owners and executives.
-Accurately record call outcomes, follow-ups, and scheduled meetings.
-Meet weekly outreach and activity expectations established by the team.
-Attend training sessions, deal meetings, and regular check-ins.
-Follow approved scripts, confidentiality requirements, and compliance procedures.
-Complete assigned work on time and remain responsive in a remote environment.
-Represent Brokd professionally in all communications with sellers, buyers, and partners.
-Take initiative and contribute to both business development and active deal execution.
Requirements
-Currently enrolled in a college or university.
-Strong interest in investment banking, private equity, entrepreneurship, mergers and acquisitions, or small-business investing.
-Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking directly with business owners.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Reliable, organized, and able to manage follow-ups independently.
-High attention to detail and willingness to learn quickly.
-Basic familiarity with financial statements, valuation, or business fundamentals is preferred but not required.
-Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides.
-Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-moving startup environment.
-Prior experience in sales, finance, consulting, entrepreneurship, or client-facing work is helpful but not required.
