Is small business equity a good investment even in a portfolio? I received a question from a YouTube subscriber about investing in the equity of many small businesses. Making a portfolio, if you will. I discuss if this is a good idea, what it would take to pull it off and a much easier solution. Check it out in this week’s video: https://youtu.be/eNMq77ZoiAE

So, am I following that, from a financial investment perspective, loaning money is just a better strategy than buying equity, presumably because loans are simple and what to do when they go bad is known, whereas equity (outside of the stock market) is complex and it's not clear what if anything to do when it goes bad?

Thanks for sharing! I do believe small businesses can be an attractive investment as long as you do your research and due diligence. Like any private company, it comes with different risks but can be very rewarding if executed properly.
