Does Anyone know or recommend a service provider that assists with specific operational due diligence tasks, such as conducting an inventory of business products and assessing the operational and material readiness of a vehicle fleet and metal fabrication equipment?

I don't know of a service provider for operations and materials "readiness," but I would recommend networking with someone in that industry who can use personal experience to give you candid feedback, sharing the specific industry here may be beneficial, as well as purpose of the fleet equipment. There can be wide variation in fleet management due to the characteristics of the segment a fleet is operating in. Financing and tax implications can be huge drivers of decision making, even more than some ops considerations. Miedema Appraisals I have used for equipment, they are based in Michigan, may be an option o equipment value.

I'd personally want to understand maintenance records, historical maintenance costs and timing of those costs, age, and hours or miles for a diligence step, as well as an on site look at the equipment. As well as DOT safety stats.
