redactedHi folks -- I have been in the search community going on 5+ years now, with my first investment being back inredactedI closed on my own small business 3+ years ago -- a tree care contractor in Seattle. Along the way, I've been writing a blog called Big Deal Small Business, which led to finding more investing opportunities. As a result, I've now completed 5 investments into self-funded search/independent sponsor deals. As my core business continues to mature and stabilize, I've found I have both the time & passion to step up my investing activities, which I'm now doing through Sunthra -- a syndicate fund that allows folks to invest in deals I invest in. My style is to be a thought partner to the sponsor. I'm not particularly interested in joining boards or formal governance (I have a business to run after all). I'd rather be your quick call when you have to make a high stakes decision and just want a trusted advisor to talk through it, ideally someone who is in the SMB trenches too.
