Introducing myself: insight & strategy background, exploring a path into ownership
Hi all, I am new here and keen to get properly engaged with the community. I spent more than a decade in the UK and European commercial real estate industry. I am based in London. My background is in commercial insight, strategy and cross-border coordination, not direct P&L or business operating experience. I am now looking to build towards ownership rather than continuing in another employed strategy role. Given my real estate background, I'm drawn to property-adjacent, essential services businesses. This includes commercial cleaning, facilities management, property and estate management, fire safety and compliance testing, and building services (mechanical and electrical). I am particularly interested in opportunities involving retiring owners who need a successor, where continuity and a steady hand matter as much as capital. I am open to a range of paths into ownership: partnering directly with a retiring owner on a phased buy-in, joining a funded search as an operating partner, or pairing with an experienced operator on a joint acquisition. Open to conversations with anyone thinking along similar lines, or with advice on how someone with my background could best position for this path. Thanks for having me.
