Hi everyone. My name is Matt, I am an active President/CEO and Deloitte-trained CPA, CA who takes on select fractional Operating Partner and Board Member clients. It's wonderful to meet you all and join the community!
First and foremost, I am an operator. I currently serve as the President of Escape Trailer Industries, and recently served as the CEO of Mountain Sports Distribution. In these seats, I’ve owned the P&L, managed the shop floor, and acted as the true "Integrator," binding together operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, HR, finance, sales, and marketing for businesses active throughout North America.
Beyond the operational mechanics, I believe that execution is fundamentally a people business. I specialize in designing scalable org structures, embedding core values, and driving a culture of high accountability. I pride myself on being able to work with anyone - from the warehouse floor to the boardroom - and getting the absolute most out of every team I am fortunate enough to lead.
Alongside my core executive leadership roles, I maintain an active practice as an Operating Partner and fractional executive for PE-backed entities (currently with Travel Buggy, and previously spanning Off Grid Trailers and Northern Lite Truck Camper Mfg.), all of which are/were owned by KV Capital.
Thanks to this portfolio approach, I’ve seen the full business lifecycle. I’ve led rapid growth and 100-day post-close integrations, but I’ve also navigated distressed assets, hard turnarounds, and restructurings. I know the early warning signs of a struggling operation, and I know how to manage cash flow and operational triage when a deal thesis hits a wall.
My operational grit is backed by the financial rigor of a CPA. Before stepping into the SMB space, I managed complex operations, cross-functional continuous improvement teams, supply chains, and controllership for multi-billion-dollar giants like Teck Resources and Husky Energy. Today, I take the world-class systems I learned at the enterprise level and right-size them for scrappy, growing businesses.
