We partner with self-funded searchers with the goal of dramatically improving their odds of success while allowing them to achieve their goal of owning their own business.
The internship will involve a hands-on learning experience with many of the core activities involved with running a startup private equity firm. An Analyst should expect to develop a fundamental knowledge of the process by which middle market companies are bought and sold. Analysts will also gain a working understanding of the industry participants involved in middle market transactions and will have the opportunity to be involved in the acquisition sourcing, investment thesis creation, financial modeling, and due diligence processes.
Example Objectives: • Research and identity attractive acquisition targets that fall within the industry investment theses and based on the firm’s investment criteria • Research industries and develop investment theses presentations • Review of confidential information on potential acquisitions and participating in due diligence analysis • Build and maintain financial models (assistance will be provided as needed) • Participate in the sourcing process by prospecting investment banks and brokers and participating in phone calls with small business owners • Prepare deal summary presentations • Support investor pitch calls/meetings

Requirements: • Pay: Unpaid • Hours per Week: 15-25 • Duration: 12-24 weeks (flexible) • Location: Primarily telecommuting. If located in the Houston area, weekly in-person meetings may be appropriate
Skills & Qualifications: • Relevant coursework in Finance and Accounting • Previous internships or work experience in finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting • Honors and achievements • Excellent analytical skills • Excellent writing ability • Strong interpersonal / conference calling skills • Strong work ethic • Data modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel • Presentation preparation using Microsoft PowerPoint
