Pacific Field Capital (PFC) is a private investment firm focused on acquiring, modernising, and scaling SMEs across Australia. We operate at the intersection of private equity, operational transformation, and hands-on entrepreneurship — building real businesses, not just spreadsheets. We are seeking an exceptional Analyst Intern to support live deal execution, financial modelling, and the creation of investor materials. This role is fully remote and designed for a high-performing university or business school student looking to gain real private equity experience. What You’ll Do Work directly with the Founder across a range of live investment activities: - Financial Modelling: Build, enhance, and maintain sophisticated Excel-based models (3-way models, DCFs, sensitivities, returns waterfalls). - Deal Execution Support: Assist with market analysis, benchmarking, due diligence preparation, and the assessment of acquisition targets. - Investor Materials: Create high-quality investor decks, teasers, IMs, board slides, and fundraising materials. - Research & Strategy: Support market sizing, competitive analyses, pricing models, and strategic reviews for both buy-side and sell-side projects. - Portfolio Support: Contribute to performance dashboards, pricing experiments, operational improvements, and business transformation work. What We’re Looking For A motivated and highly capable student who wants genuine exposure to private equity work: - Excellent Excel financial modelling ability — including formulas, structuring, sensitivity tables, and clean model design. - Strong analytical and research skills. - Ability to develop polished PowerPoint investor-ready decks. - High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the confidence to work remotely and independently. - A proactive learner with a genuine interest in private equity, business acquisitions and divestments What You’ll Gain This role will give you: - Direct exposure to live transactions in the low-to-mid-market. - Hands-on development in valuation, modelling, deal execution, and investor communication. - Close mentorship from a former institutional executive and corporate development leader - A rare chance to see behind the scenes of SME acquisition, ownership, and operational transformation. - A high-credibility experience for future roles in PE, VC, IB, consulting, or corporate development. This is an unpaid internship with flexible fully remote hours. You can work around your university and exam schedule.

Thanks very much to everyone who applied for this role. Due to the large number of applications I can't get back to everyone individually, but I really appreciate the time people took to apply - the quality of candidates was outstanding. Shortlisted applicants have now been contacted and interviews are underway, if you haven't heard from us directly then unfortunately you haven't been successful in being shortlisted. I wish you all, all the best for your future in the industry.
