The Company
We design and deliver custom structured cabling and connectivity for data centers, telecom operators, and enterprise networks.
The Project
We're evaluating a US-based structured cabling manufacturing facility. The decision involves site selection across ideal candidate markets, equipment path analysis (semi-automated vs. fully automated), state and federal incentive programs, clean environment requirements, and a full financial model with unit economics. This is a real capex and opex decision, not an academic exercise. We need one person to develop the feasibility plan so we understand the required go/no-go metrics and decisions.
What You'll Do
Build a side-by-side location scorecard covering labor markets, industrial real estate, utility infrastructure, logistics costs, and workforce pipelines across four to six US metros
Research and compare state/federal manufacturing incentive programs, tax structures, and certification pathways (CHIPS Act, TAA, GSA)
Evaluate equipment vendor quotes and develop a connector capability matrix across two automation paths
Develop a pro forma financial model with volume scenarios, staffing cost models, breakeven analysis, and location-adjusted P&L comparisons
Synthesize everything into a final recommendation memo with a phased implementation roadmap
Revenue and unit sales analysis a facility would require to be financially feasible.
What We're Looking For
Very smart person with lots of motivation.
Ideally coursework or experience in finance, operations, or supply chain
Strong financial modeling skills - you can build a pro forma from scratch, not just fill in templates
Demonstrated comfort using AI tools for research and analysis (show us in your application)
Experience or the ability to learn how to use tools such as IDE’s to create high quality throughput. Knowing how to prompt well and validate AI output is a core skill for this role. You need to be able to work beyond the browser interface.
Ability to synthesize messy, incomplete data into clear recommendations
Self-directed - you'll work directly with the founder, not a manager
What You'll Get
A real strategic decision with real capital behind it - not a slide deck that goes in a drawer
Direct access to the founder throughout the project
A portfolio piece that demonstrates AI-augmented business analysis
Experience evaluating a greenfield manufacturing operation end to end
How to Apply
Send a short note and your resume to Mark at redacted Bonus points if you show me how you'd use modern tools and workflow to 20x your output.
