About 2Northside Group
2Northside Group is an independent sponsor led by seasoned technology entrepreneurs and operators. Unlike traditional private equity funds, we utilize an "Operator-in-Residence" model, installing ourselves into full-time C-suite leadership roles within our acquired companies to drive long-term value.
We focus on two investment mandates:
- (Primary) B2B Tech/SaaS: Acquiring mission-critical "system of record" software or tech-enabled services.
- (Secondary) Texas Physical Services: Acquiring stable Texas-based B2B service or niche product companies.
The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber MBA Intern with prior experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Search Funds, or Independent Sponsoring. This is not a typical "spreadsheet-only" internship. You will work directly with our Managing Partners to build and execute a new sourcing engine and evaluate deals through a technical and operational lens.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing Process Architecture: Lead the build-out of a new, systematic sourcing process to identify targets that fit our specific "Legacy Founder" and "Growth Partner" personas.
- Target Screening & Profiling: Identify and evaluate B2B SaaS and service companies with $1M–$15M in revenue, looking for "sticky" businesses constrained by technical debt or operational inefficiencies.
- Investment Thesis Application: Assist in underwriting complex technology transformations that traditional investors typically avoid.
- Operational Roadmapping: Help develop "Post-Closing Growth Roadmaps" that focus on platform modernization, AI implementation, and professionalizing go-to-market strategies.
- Intermediary Outreach: Draft and manage communications with LMM investment bankers, brokers, and CPAs using our persona-based messaging framework.
Qualifications
- Current MBA Student
- Professional Background: Prior experience in PE, IB, Search Funds, Independent Sponsors, or a related high-growth operational role.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to analyze financial statements and market dynamics, but more importantly, an interest in the "how" of business operations.
- Entrepreneurial Grit: We value resilience, self-starters, and "Founder’s Empathy".
What We Offer (Mentorship & Value Prop)
- The Operator’s Perspective: You will learn to evaluate a business not just as a financial asset, but as a living organization. We will mentor you on identifying technical debt and operational bottlenecks that don't appear on a P&L.
- C-Suite Exposure: Work alongside a "C-Suite in a Box" and learn how to bridge the gap between investment thesis and daily execution.
- Direct Impact: You aren't just a cog in a machine; you are building the infrastructure (the sourcing process) that will define our firm's future deal flow.
