Independent M&A Advisor (Hourly, Deal Support Role)
Job Description
I’m a CEO coach and business advisor who helps founders scale, professionalize, and prepare their companies for liquidity events. I’m currently supporting select clients exploring potential transactions in the $1MM–$50MM+ enterprise value range and am looking for an experienced, independent M&A professional to act as a technical advisor and thought partner on a project-by-project, hourly basis.
This is not a brokerage role and not a success-fee or commission-based position. I’m looking for senior-level judgment, deal experience, and real-time support—not representation.
What I’m Looking For
Someone who has directly worked on 10+ closed deals in the $1MM–$50MM range (buy-side, sell-side, or both)
Strong understanding of:
Deal structuring
Valuation and multiples
LOIs, QoE, diligence processes
Common pitfalls founders make in transactions
Comfortable acting as a behind-the-scenes advisor and joining calls as part of a broader advisory team when appropriate
How This Role Works
Paid hourly (please include your rate and typical availability)
Engagements may include:
Pre-call prep and deal strategy
Helping frame key questions for buyers, investors, or intermediaries
Joining selected calls with management teams or counterparties
Sanity-checking deal terms, structure, and process
You are advising me, so I can better advise my clients. You are not expected to source deals or take over execution.
Ideal Profile
Former or current:
Independent M&A advisor
Investment banker (lower middle market)
Search fund professional
Corporate development lead
Pragmatic, founder-friendly, and comfortable working without ego
Clear communicator who can explain complex deal mechanics simply and calmly
To Apply
Please include:
Brief summary of your deal experience (deal sizes, role played)
Hourly rate
Any constraints on availability
Whether you’re comfortable joining live calls when needed
Thanks so much.
