I'm working on a process for sending snail mail to prospective sellers. I have compiled my first industry list and attractive companies within that industry.
What have you found is the best resource for finding business owner names and addresses?
in Calgary, AB, Canada
For many industries, though, that's not going to yield any useful information. In that case, you may find online directories to be the a valuable resource for both business owner name and mailing address.
The Better Business Bureau, Google Maps, Yelp, or any other online directory where they may be listed. Also keep an eye for industry-specific directories.
Depending on the size of your current prospective sellers list, it may make sense to outsource the leg work of collecting these data points to a freelancer from any of the many online marketplaces where such services are offered. This would allow you to focus on the more strategic aspects of this campaign you're working on.
Sending a mail piece can be a very effective approach, and one that other Searchfunders are exploring. What I would recommend you consider is to combine a mailing campaign with a digital advertising campaign, targeting the business (or home) mailing address you're mailing to. This dual channel approach (physical and digital) has yield great results for clients of ours in the past.
Good luck with your campaign. Let us know how it goes or if you need further help.
