Hello all,

I wanted to know if anyone has any knowledge about searching for companies that provide service to the government (any sector) that may be for sale. I was told this may be a bad idea because of the uncertainty of constant revenue.

USASpending.gov has been a useful resource for me. The advanced search function is great. Regarding your concern on revenue, you really need to evaluate them at the contract level. Some companies are awesome with a portfolio of multiple, long-term contracts; other have contracts that are less guaranteed but they are serving a unique niche so you can expect the business to be consistent; and others have large contract concentration or contracts that are unlikely to renew - which are both clear red flags.
Good luck on your search!
