Anyone in the Detroit area who could give me insight into how to go about finding capital partners for a self funded search? How does one find individual investors or firms that specialize in the lower middle market? Coffee is on me.

I'm focused exclusively on the Michigan market, but with that I don't think I'm doing anything differently from an investor standpoint than I would if I was nationally searching. There are a number of self-funded focused funds you can reach out to (DM me and I can provide a list) as well as individuals, family offices, etc. I will say that I've made a point of reaching out to as many PE/Family Offices/Local Investment firms as possible to get my name out and explore any interest in becoming minority stakeholders.

My recommendation is the same…. cast a wide net when it comes to seeking sources of capital. I don’t have any specific sources in Michigan but always happy to exchange ideas. Feel free to reach out anytime.
