I am new to this process and anticipate the hard work in both finding and closing a deal. I am leaning towards the traditional model but curious as to how to source credible investors.

Any guidance is appreciated!

Hi Ryan. The most typical method is to work your network, then work the next group, and so on until you find what you need. Sites like SF can help as well. Raising money from investors in a more public setting has some legal issues (Google “general solicitation”) that you should check with a knowledgeable lawyer before proceeding down that path. Any lawyer in the SF directory should be able to help.

People always say “but i don't know any investors” and they may be right, at the start. But you need to ask everyone you know if they know anyone and so on and so on.

Good luck!

^redacted‌ - In addition to the comments you receive here, you can always find investors that match your search criteria under the Directory / Investors at the top of this screen. There are more than 1200 in total. Here is the direct link: https://www.searchfunder.com/searchfund/mysearchfund
