Thanks for the shoutout, ^redacted‌! Our QofEs typically start around $20k and go up from there depending on complexity. Most self-funded searchers end up on the lower end of that range. We also offer a lighter diligence option that some firms might call a “QofE lite,” but we’re very clear that it is not a QofE. It’s an FDD workbook that gives buyers solid coverage and a three-statement model, but it doesn’t include things like cash proof or the deeper testing you’d expect in a full QofE. For FDD typically going to be flat rate for buy-side engagements, sell-side engagements can vary. For QoE reports I'd put at independent providers and smaller firms doing them around $5k-$20k. As an independent with big 4 FDD experience I typically fall between $8k-$15k for a buyside. Any QofE lite work is scope dependent but you can see that price drop quite a bit more. Price is probably a good starting point as to what is included in a QofE service. Ultimately though my opinion is finding the right fit is most important. Depending on your background, having the right advisor in this spot is crucial to assisting the searcher evaluate the opportunity properly. If you have a finance heavy background, going the lite route is probably fine. But if you don't then you probably want to lean on someone to assist with modeling and a little more consulting around what the findings mean for the deal and what's reasonable to go back to negotiate.
