Would love to hear people's experience when raising search capital. How does one put their best foot forward when speaking to LPs? What are things you have done to prepare in advance? Any pushback from LPs? If so, can you please elaborate? In hindsight, are there any things you would have done differently?

Raising search capital is all about showing LPs how your experience connects to your investment thesis and why you’re the right person to execute it. As an investor, I tend to focus on four areas: people management, industry knowledge, growth plans, and downside protection.

It does seem more competitive and many investors I spoke to noted there are many new searchers trying to raise. I’m just in the process of closing. 7 months, reached out to 400 investors with more than 1500 emails, 50 first calls, many more after that. 19 investors on board.
