I am currently looking at a target company in an industry that requires technical expertise and a special license. In order to put seller's mind at ease around transition and go forward operations I have proposed that I will be working on the business and will hire a licensed GM focused on the day-to-day. When did they start looking/interviewing GMs (Pre-LOI, under LOI, Post Close)?
Did you incorporate the sellers in the vetting and hiring process?
What did the initial GM-candidate conversation sound like?
How did you source candidates (open market, head hunter or referrals)?
