I've been running operations, or teaching how to run operations for the last nine years. All of which has been in high-risk/high-regulation industries. 

Does anyone have any experience with acquisitions of businesses in this category? Any Lessons Learned?

Slow sales cycles also mean sticky customers, just have to make sure you have the runway was a lesson I learned the hard way selling into education. I've been fortunate enough to come across fascinating businesses in other regulated markets in smart ways such as court payments.
