Starting something from scratch can be a little ... let's just say tedious at the best of times....

But as a serial entrepreneur, what do you do that helps you keep pushing forward each and every day? What helps you stay on track and focused when it feels that its you against you?

I totally agree. The biggest struggle for me during the first year was the mental challenge of not having any peers and very few mentors. A few things I did:

- Joined a bi-weekly mastermind. I found a couple other guys online to just talk shop with every 2 weeks. We finally met in person a couple weeks ago and it was really fun!
- Joined EO/EO Accelerator. Entrepreneur’s Organization typically requires $1mm in revenue, so before I hit that mark, I joined their accelerator program. Great way to meet local entrepreneurs.
- Got a coach. It’s a bit like therapy mixed with having someone to hold you accountable. I love it.
- I have a great spouse who’s been understanding and given me a lot of support. I can’t imagine doing this without her buy-in as well.

Counterintuitively, making time for a hobby makes me more productive and helps me maintain focus. For me, this is playing music. I played the violin in high school and decided to get it out of storage and give it a try again. I've found that I have to concentrate when I play and can't think about anything else. It turned out to be my form of meditation. It "resets" my brain. If not an instrument, then some other hobby that requires total concentration should do the trick.
