WHO WE ARE
https://capitalpad.com
CapitalPad is a deal-by-deal investment platform connecting accredited investors, funds, and family offices with searchers and independent sponsors raising equity capital.
We're operators who saw a real problem (good sponsors struggle to access capital, and smart investors can't find quality deal flow) and built something useful.
WHAT WE'RE NEEDING HELP BUILDING
We want to create the newsletter for the ETA community. Something people actually look forward to opening and that is not overly long for no reason. Something quick, useful, and easy to consume.
Think: the best tweets, posts, podcasts, and insights from the search fund and independent sponsor world, curated weekly. Short, punchy, valuable.
This goes to thousands of people: investors, searchers, sponsors, and anyone following the space.
WHAT YOU'D DO
Core responsibility: Curate the week's best ETA content
Every week, you:
• Monitor Twitter, LinkedIn, SearchFunder, podcasts, and news for compelling content.
• Identify ~ 3-5 items worth sharing (great tweets, insightful posts, upcoming conferences, notable deals, etc.)
• Write brief, engaging commentary for each item
• Format it into a newsletter draft
• Send to Travis for review/approval
Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week
~2 hours monitoring content throughout the week
~1-2 hours writing/formatting the newsletter
~30 min responding to any feedback
Technical requirements: Minimal
We use email tools like ConvertKit/Beehive (easy to learn)
You just need to be able to curate content and write clearly
WHO SHOULD APPLY
You're ideal if you:
• Already consume ETA content obsessively (you're here on SearchFunder, Twitter, listening to podcasts)
• Have good taste. You know what's actually interesting vs. generic content
• Can write clearly and concisely (no corporate jargon)
• Are reliable. We need this going out consistently
• Want deeper immersion in the space while getting paid for it
We care about:
• You actually understand what's interesting in this space
• You're reliable and consistent
• You can write in a normal, engaging way (not like a corporate press release)
WHY THIS IS WORTH YOUR TIME
Beyond the money:
• Deep access to deal flow and market trends
• If you're interested in acquisitions or investing, this is constant learning that you're being paid for
• Build relationships with investors and sponsors
• Get your name/byline in front of thousands of people in the space
• Real ownership. This is your newsletter to build
• Flexible. Work whenever, as long as it ships on time
Also: If you crush this, there's potential for it to grow into more (think podcast hosting, content strategy, community building).
HOW THIS WORKS
• First month: You draft, Travis reviews/edits heavily, we calibrate on voice and quality
• Month two onward: You run it with light oversight. Travis just spot checks before it sends
• Ongoing: You own this. Suggest improvements, try new formats, build it into something bigger if you want
LOGISTICS
• Fully remote
• Flexible schedule (as long as newsletter ships on time each week)
• Compensation: Tell us what you're looking for. We want to know what you think is fair for 3-5 hours/week
• Start date: ASAP (we'll train you on tools in week one)
HOW TO APPLY
Send an email to redacted with:
• Who you are (1-2 sentences, no formal resume needed unless you want to include it)
• Why you're interested (What's your connection to the ETA space? Why does this sound appealing?)
• Sample curation (Find 3-5 pieces of content from the past week in the ETA space and write a 1-2 sentence take on each. Show us you have good taste and can write clearly.)
• What you'd want to be compensated (Just tell us what you think is fair for 3-5 hours/week. There's no wrong answer. We just want to know if we're in the same ballpark.)
Subject line: "Newsletter Curator - [Your Name]"
QUESTIONS?
Feel free to email us. Happy to answer anything about the role, CapitalPad, or what we're building.
Note: We're posting this on SearchFunder first because this community gets it. If you're reading this here, you're probably already the right person.
