Hello SearchFunder community
Hello SearchFunder community —I'm Nathaniel Muns, based in Philadelphia, launching Muns Search Partners, a traditional search fund. I'm here for the long haul — this is my community for the next two years and beyond — so I wanted to introduce myself properly before I start asking questions.A bit about me: I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from Penn State (with a Project Management minor). I started my career as a software engineer, moved into project management — most recently with fortune 500 companies— and for the past few years I've run my own AI-first agency, Project Pulse, where I design and deploy automation systems for small and mid-sized businesses. That combination — technical depth plus operating experience inside SMBs — is what pulled me toward entrepreneurship through acquisition. I want to run and modernize a business, not just analyze one.My thesis: acquiring a $1.5M–$5M EBITDA B2B services business through a control acquisition from a succession-minded seller. I'm already active on deal flow: I screen listings weekly and recently submitted backup-buyer inquiries on two IT services businesses through their brokers. Two things I'd especially value from this community as I get started:1. A recommended CPA for the search phase — entity tax setup, bookkeeping, expense tracking. (I'm cross-checking Kislay Shah CPA, Citrin Cooperman, and Franty & Co against what other first-time searchers here actually used.)2. Lessons from searchers/operators further along — including what sitting on boards and governance looks like a few years after a first close, and what the catch is.If you're an investor who backs first-time searchers, or a fellow searcher or operator willing to share lessons learned, I'd be grateful for a conversation. Happy to share my deck on request. Thanks for having me — looking forward to contributing to the redacted | Philadelphia, PA
