Hello from a wood products operator — happy to help, and searching too

Hi everyone — glad to be part of this community. Quick introduction. I’m Joby Walker, and I’ve spent 20+ years in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, casework, and wood products manufacturing — most recently as a general manager running multi-site operations with full P&L ownership. Estimating and job costing, production flow and throughput, scheduling, install, hiring and training, lean shop operations — the day-to-day reality of running a wood manufacturing business, not the theory. How I can help here: I work with searchers, independent sponsors, and acquirers as an industry operating partner in the cabinetry, millwork, casework, wood products, and building products manufacturing space. In practice that looks like operational due diligence before you close (what a QofE won’t tell you about a shop’s real capacity, job costing, and owner-dependence), hands-on leadership through the transition, and ongoing operations support or a board seat after. Longer term I’m looking for the right business to acquire and operate myself; manufacturing, skilled trades, and building products are home turf, and I’m especially drawn to owner-succession situations.
