Does anyone have recommendations on solid sites to understand what a multiple on a specialty practice (e.g., dermatology, infectious disease, infusion) might look like? There's a lot of information on general practices, but not enough specificity to capture the nuances.

^redacted‌, thanks for the tag. The real multiple action comes from where the valuation settles within the range. All the specialties you mention have recurring revenue, which makes them attractive, but the drivers are different. In dermatology and similar specialties with high cash-pay potential, valuation hinges on payor mix, the balance of cosmetic vs medical services, and how effectively APPs are utilized, among other things. There’s also heavier private equity competition in derm compared to other specialties. In infusion and infectious disease, the focus is more on reimbursement dynamics and clinical throughput. Those specialties don’t yet see the same level of PE saturation, so competitive intensity for deals is lower.
