Anyone familiar with the healthcare referral management business? Do the doctors use separate referral management system to pass on referrals? Would love to pick your brain on this investment thesis. #healthcare #emr

Hey Bhushan, I've researched the referral management process a good amount for work. There are a few approaches that I've seen are popular. Some health systems use their EMR (Epic) to do this. The problem is that they can't speak to other providers that don't use Epic. A large and growing number of providers are using software like Leading Reach which is more of a web-based solution that can talk to anyone.

Many 3rd party systems will say they can handle scheduling the referral appointment for you and this sounds nice in theory, but this generally seems to be a fancy tool that doesn't provide as much value as you might think.

I'm in the nursing home space and I'd love to see a good referral software system for nursing home referrals to home health/hospice/etc.
