Definitely most deals can be found elsewhere, BUT there are a long tail of firms who do use Axial and not BizBuySell, etc. We are focusing on this same universe of bankers with PEmarketplace; Axial would be much better if they just focused on the more boutique firms where the model actually adds value since they do have a lot of good firms on there.

As many of you have pointed out, plenty of brokers in the lower middle market have both their own sites and / or they use listing sites to market their deals. You should definitely use those sites to whatever extent you have the time. For those of you who want to use Axial but strip out the brokers who list publicly, you can add any broker to your Axial suppression list and Axial will block that deal flow from being recommended to you. That should help ensure Axial is only delivering * incremental * deal flow to you from bankers / brokers who are exclusively using Axial and don't usage 3rd party listing sites. That leaves the sellside bankers and brokers who don't and won't use listing sites and work with Axial exclusively. They do this for two reasons for the most part: 1 - they don't want their deal publicly posted on the internet (Axial does not work this way) 2 - they find that the buyer quality on those sites to be largely a waste of their time (Axial requires accreditation and skews institutional) and time-intensive to quality. Axial does this for them. Final NOTE on Axial pricing for ETA'ers using a PG. For those of you making a PG in order to get your deals done, Axial now offers reduced fees to you which you can take at closing in lieu of earning success fee credits at closing. We rolled out this pricing relief when the SBA made their recent changes in May / June 2025, which we thought were steps in the wrong direction for ETA in America.
