I just got an email from the SBA that green card holders are no longer allowed to be part of any SBA loan. Is this rule necessary in business?

I also received word from a prominent SBA loan broker today to that effect as of March 1. And let's be very clear here - even though it's official policy, no, it is not necessary for business. Legal Permanent Residents are people who have followed all the laws, jumped through all the hoops. Even so, this administration chokes off opportunity EVEN for those who follow the law.

A really unfortunate and weird SBA policy change... Immigrants start / run a disproportionately high number of businesses so this will not only hurt those folks (law-abiding legal ambitious immigrants) but negatively impact entrepreneurship and the country / economy. I guess permanent residents will now have to be even more resourceful and try to figure this out using conventional / other loans.. Hope they change that back soon..
