Asked about defining “goodness” in iCourts culture, Rebecca reflected that it is very much about “the capacity to be yourself, have opinions, participate, contribute and be respected”. To foster the opportunity for staff to grow, learn a new skill or specialism, spread their wings. It all adds to there being more transferrable skill within the company and there’s goodness in that. Rebecca uses openness to talk about purpose, and to focus on not just the ‘what’ but the ‘why we do what we do’. She also values connecting with staff about how they are traveling and has created a specific responsibility within the Operations Manager role to check and monitor culture, ensuring regular meaningful communication about how people are travelling.

“It's a constant sort of monitoring ear to the ground. I've got three really senior, trusted, gentle, loyal, smart, perceptive people that pretty much everyone trusts that are really good sounding boards as well”.

“We've also got super flexible working conditions so at the moment, we're trialling every single person in the office having one day working from home, no matter what role they have.”
