Glaido AI
Glaido is an app that turns speech into finished text in any application. Its Command Mode goes further and acts on spoken instructions instead of just typing them.
What The Tool Does
- Dictation in any app: Emails, messages, prompts and documents are spoken instead of typed. The formatting adjusts to the app in use, so an email gets paragraphs and a chat reply stays short.
- Command Mode: Instead of dictating, the user gives an instruction. Glaido says Command Mode can search the web, summarize a YouTube video, run deeper research, and find and open files and apps. It can also search back through everything the user has dictated before.
- Custom tools: Users can add plugins, built on the MCP standard, that connect Command Mode to other software like Notion.
- Privacy: Glaido advertises zero data retention and keeps the user’s history on the device. Speech is still processed in the cloud, so it needs an internet connection.
- Cost and platforms: The free plan covers 2,000 words a week. Pro costs $17 a month billed annually. There is no phone app yet.
Why It Matters
Dictation alone saves time on emails and written procedures. Command Mode points to where these tools are heading: running a computer by voice.
