Getting Owners on the Phone

What have you done to increase the response rate on cold outreaches and get business owners on the phone? Emails in particular but also interested in hearing thoughts around sending personalized letters to owners, calling the office, etc.

I'd recommend sending letters via fedex or another service that stands out relative to standard mail. Some of these businesses can get a lot of mail so it will help ensure your note is read (and you get a notification when they've received).

I find in outreach that personalization is key (e.g., mentioning something about the business you specifically like) and making it feel personable and not commercial like.
