This could be a dream opportunity for someone who wants to buy ‘and/or’ operate a lower middle market company in the US in the next 3-5 years. You will learn all aspects of operating a business and be directly involved in buying and selling a business as well. But this is ‘not’ a remote position. You need to be based in the DC area or be willing to relocate. Our Office is in Gaithersburg, MD and we expect you 'on site' 5 days a week – 8 am to 6 pm. Link to the episode: redacted Non negotiables: - Communication – both written and oral - Customer focused (savvy) relationship building skills - Project management capabilities – juggle deliverables, prioritize, and get things done - Hunger, hustle, tenacity, and grit - perseverance to reach goals Recently I posted two jobs (VP – pathway to CEO & Interns) and while the interns one had an outstanding/overwhelming response, the VP (pathway to CEO) one was mediocre, with some good candidates, but not ideal fits. Those postings helped to calibrate what we are looking for and what we need. In my mind I am looking for a very well structured (engineering; project management background) and organized person, a mid-career professional (3-5 years post undergrad) who recognizes it will not be easy (timing is not ideal) to either raise a fund or acquire a company and is yet wanting that exposure/learnings. Daily Duties Operations/Project management - Respond to day-to-day client emails + calls (schedule jobs + installations) - Project management of house accounts (responding to emails, reviewing project proofs, moving projects through internal production/finishing/delivery) -- will include site visits and simple deliveries/installations) - Provide quotes for projects - Manage internal workflows -- ensuring teams are meeting internal SLAs between departments - Create and manage installation calendar Technology Initiative Champion - Oversee Shopify/shopvox client stores - Ensure all projects are entered timely and appropriately in internal system and ensure system is updated (validating all projects are accounted for and nothing falls through any cracks/ manual handoff) - Provide simple reporting of business metrics to senior leadership - Support senior leadership with business development initiatives as and where needed - Lead by example by rolling up your sleeves and jumping into any aspect of the process as needed Apply only if you are local or willing to relocate.
