Hey Folks, I'm a self funded searcher. My objective is to buy a business that can cash flow. No need to 20x the business. I'm looking at a general contractor that has had consistent growth YoY for the last 5 years. They have a very strong marketing engine, 14% SDE margins with almost no employees (fully subcontracted labor) so asset light. Yes, it's project revenue (remodels, ADUs, etc.), but seems consistent. I don't think the owner brings a magic to the process that couldn't be replicated (I fully understand there will be a learning curve but less key-man risk.) And because it's asset and people light, it's very expandable. It's also in a high income area which are more buffered from recession. What are your thoughts on this?

Do you require a contractor license in your area and do you already have one? If not, make sure you understand what it takes to get one. The real question is, what are you buying? A website? Relationships? Make sure it can be transferred to you whatever that special sauce is.

Hi, I found it and grew my own construction business which I still operate on the side. Happy to do a call if you want to discuss further.
