Andrew, this probably sounds like the obvious answer, but if it was me, I would find someone who has many years of industry experience, who works with a competitor and hire them, or promote someone from within the company., if that didn't work, I would try to find someone in a near or related industry, or even a customer. If you did any research on the industry or called competitors in the search, that may give you a good place to start as well.
