Friends and Family Funding

Has anyone set up a Friends and Family fund? I am considering setting up an F&F fund to finance a portion of my acquisition, but I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle to create an investment vehicle to take in the smaller amounts. I'm also considering the additional admin work related to reporting, taxes, etc.
Any advice? Thanks!
