Hi All - Many of you are likely considering software as an ecosystem of particular interest in your search, and some of you may have a specific thesis around purchasing an on-premise company and migrating both the product and revenue models from that of on-premise to SaaS (something that has now been done a handful of times by previous searchers).

I am one of those searchers, and navigating that migration was one of the hardest things that I had to do as CEO. In a previous post (hyperlinked here), I evaluated some of the major challenges that I faced in doing so. Though our company did achieve some success, our transition ultimately went too slow, required too much capital, and came in below our initial targets.

In this week's blog (link below), I walk you through the tactics and strategies that you can put into place to make your own transition faster, cheaper, and ultimately less painful than mine was. These include things that we did (that worked), as well as things that we didn’t do (that I wish we had).
