Hi everyone, I’m trying to connect with Canadian business owners (specifically Calgary) who might be looking to sell, but can’t cold-email them due to CASL. I’ve thought about: Networking via advisors (lawyers, accountants, brokers) Passive inbound through landing pages or guides Has anyone successfully identified or engaged owners legally without emailing cold? Any creative strategies or tips would be hugely appreciated!

CASL are rules for promotional email. You certainly can call someone on the phone and ask to talk to them for a business purpose or even email someone with an inquiry. People who spam lists of business emails with offers to buy a business don't get any results anyway.

I have been doing outbound for 3 years, I personally think you are overthinking it. Just ask Chatgpt to vet your copy to be casl compliant, and get on with it.
