Financial and Operations Analyst
Responsibilities Overview :
We are looking for a financial analyst, reporting directly to the CFO of a private equity backed company. The ideal candidate wants to analyze data, drive operational improvements, and make a significant impact at our mid-sized entrepreneurial organization. He/she will be relentless, curious, driven to succeed, a great communicator and will work closely with the CFO to generate value across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Develop, automate, and analyze weekly, monthly and annual financial and operational reports for the management team.
-Proactively suggest recommendations that will drive profitable growth based on your review of Vortex’s financial and operational data.
-Analyze data and provide recommendations to help respond to Request For Proposals (“RFPs”) for pricing new and existing customers.
-Ad hoc financial analysis to support the management team.
-Develop an understanding of Vortex’s operational processes and IT systems, with an eye to identifying opportunities to document and streamline tasks in a new ERP.
-Assist with due diligence on competitors, customers, and suppliers related to acquisitions, sales expansion strategies, and new strategic initiatives.
-Collaborate across the organization to assist with project plans and timelines for new initiatives being rolled out across the organization by the CFO.

Qualifications/Experience Required
Education and Experience
-2-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting or accounting.
-Completion of an economics or business degree from a Canada or U.S. university.
-Experience in entrepreneurial organizations (can be professional experience, side hustles, or volunteer experience).
-Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Competency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
-Experience with additional data analytics tools an asset, but not required.
