Finance guy running a tech startup. This week reminded me why it's different.

my engineer said the migration would take 1-2 weeks. it took almost 4. every time i asked "can we just ship it" — no. every time i thought we were close, something new came up. i'm a finance guy. i'm used to pushing. calling more. working harder actually moves the needle. with engineering it just doesn't work like that. worst feeling fr. product shipped. it's good. but those 4 weeks were a different kind of hard.
