Hi all, I'm evaluating a few different field service management systems for our small geothermal HVAC company and would love to speak to anyone with experience evaluating, adopting, or using enterprise software systems for HVAC companies or related construction / trade / home service companies.

What systems do you recommend? Are Service Titan and Field Edge the best? Which one is better? What scale should a company reach before it adopts a system like this? What are the best practices for successful implementation?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Andrew

Search for a similar post by David Fischer on January 1st, ###-###-#### I wrote a lengthy response there with information on ServiceTitan. One additional comment... this week I spent time with a new hire who came to us from another service plumbing company. He expressed his enthusiasm for our tablets and ServiceTitan over the system at his prior company.

To your question on what scale a business should be before implementing... on day one of operation with one employee. The longer a business waits to get on board, the harder implementation will be. Running a contracting business without ServiceTitan or a competitor's system would be like operating a retail store with a cashbox and paper inventory ledgers.

ServiceTitan is clear #1. I’m switching to it now. It requires a huge upfront lift from the office staff to get going (pricebook, phone integrations, mobile integrations, payments, permission settings, etc) but has big benefits. Happy to chat if helpful.
