I'm looking into a multinational company with presence in the US (60% of rev), Australia (HQ but only 15% of rev), Singapore (15%), Malaysia (5%) and Hong Kong (5%). I know this brings a level of complexity (and cost) for due diligence, mainly for tax and legal. Does anyone have experience doing a multinational deal and/or any recommendations for experienced (& affordable) advisors (tax & legal) in this space? Thanks!

Hi Stijn, all depends on your budget. I always lean to mid tiers like RSM and can flick you through a partner to discuss this with (they can help with a free call to just feel this out). Unless you have very deep pockets for the DD, my experience share, focus on the US DD (as it's 60% of the pie) and then bring in paid high end advice for just the technical aspects (not the base DD). Ie, about consolidation, taxation across regions, revenue recog, etc. Keeps the scope tight and you get the real value from the big firms on the items you need. With the likes of RSM, means you can have a Melb/Syd team lead it and then they'll bring in their global partners to help with other technical advice. Good luck!
