I am pretty much in the last stages of closing a deal for a mid-sized company in Brasil (about 100 employees) and I am planning on structure and alignment after taking over the operation. It's a bit of an atypical deal for a search-fund as it includes the acquisition and post-acquisition merger integration of two companies which are today operating independently, This means that I will be facing a serious challenge with regards to defining responsibilities within the new structure and align it with the new leadership team. I am planning to implement many of the concepts you can find in the book "Scaling Up" from Verne Harnish (for those who haven't read it - I recommend it strongly for anyone running a company). Recently, was doing some research on systems that help to implement the contents of the book and the only thing I found was Aligntoday (www.aligntoday.com), which is also recommended in the book itself. A first check/trial indeed proved that this solution is able to provide a lot of the concepts taught in the book, however, I also feel the solution is a bit slow in everyday use. It also seems to be lacking integrations with other systems, has a non-native (slow) IOS-App and overall could have a better use &feel and also the task-management aspect could be developed better or allow for integrations with other tools that are more specialized on task-management. So I am wondering: Is there anyone here working with Aligntoday? What is your experience? What are alternatives (and when I mean alternatives I do not mean task-management systems like Asana, Trello, etc. etc. - I mean Business Management solutions that help to align the organization and get priorities straight. Could also be systems that are based on OKR which is pretty much the same thing in a different dress I think). Any feedback on this is very welcome! Also, Google did (to my surprise) not provide much feedback when I was looking for reviews of the system and I also could not find alternatives. Also posting a question on Quora brought zero results so far....'

Thanks a lot, Chad! I will have a look at BetterWorks. I also found one more to look at, called Fifteen5. I will compare all 3 (and evtl. others if I find any). Could you maybe just wrap up main pro/cons of better works v. align? The integration and also UI experience are in favor of BetterWorks. What speaks for AlignToday (other than the low price)?

They each have their pros and cons ... I do like that BetterWorks has integrations with other systems and the UI experience is "better" across the Web and iOS. We currently use BetterWorks in my existing organization.
