Here is one with a whole stack of red flags - Amazon who can be your competitor and your platform at the same time, a whole bunch of other global multi billion dollar competitors - Wal Mart, Temu, Ebay, etc As you mentioned Amazon can change the algorithm at any time - Amazon FBA in my personal opinion is something to stay away from at all costs - some may have a lot of success in it, but when you hand over control to a couple heartless global conglomerates who can make or break your business - it may be less risky to start then to acquire - however, you then risk losing a lot of time as well

Amazon is a shopping mall, it's where the customers are at, and that's probably not going to change for a long while. But it's also true, as you say, that they change their algorithm from time to time, as all tech companies do. They change their fees, add things, take things away.... it's not a model where you can set it and forget it. If you create a routine to check policy and platform updates weekly, or at least monthly, you can adapt and get ahead of anything that will affect your brand and products. Similar to if you owned a brick and mortar retail store, you have to stay on top of your lease, maintain inventory, do marketing, watch out for shoplifting, handle returns and refunds.....typical retail stuff, just an Amazon/ecommerce version of it.
