Does anyone have experience selling or buying a civil engineering business? <5mm revenue. Under 20 employees. Looking to understand exit strategies for these kind of businesses.

I believe an outsider will have a hard time targeting this type of business. Most will transition to a senior engineer at the firm or acquired by a competitor. You also have to deal with legal requirements in the state of jurisdiction since some will require a licensed engineer to be an officer of the company.

Annie feel free to reach out to a fellow alum. I've mostly seen this sized engineering firm get bought by bigger firms. But if the owner is looking to keep the legacy, there may be a play.
