Examples of successful searches while working full time?

I fully intended to begin a search a few months ago, but another opportunity arose for my independent consulting operation. I'm curious to hear success stories of searchers who found businesses to buy while engaged full time elsewhere. How did they manage their time? It seems a daunting task while putting in###-###-#### hours a week working on something else.

Hi Brett, I worked full time as an M&A lawyer (not an easy gig) while conducting my search and then closed on an acquisition for myself while handling a client M&A deal simultaneously. Happy to share some strategies to help streamline operations. Ping me at redacted

I am working FT and searched for about 12 months before finding a suitable target. I'm still in the acquisition process but will likely close by June. It's definitely doable but you absolutely need schedule freedom to be able to cater to other professionals schedules on short notice to keep momentum going. My experience doing this also reflects what ^redacted‌ said above. I've become very productive and a good delegator/motivator... so much so I just got a 2nd promotion since I started searching. By focusing on what's important on both ends (job & searching), I was able to get my job working hours down to about 45-50hrs/week (from 60-70hrs) and searching hours at###-###-#### depending on stage of searching).
